BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: NF-02 level responsibilities include performing a variety of related clerical and administrative tasks in support of recruiting, staffing and personnel action reports, such as, but not limited to preparing announcements, receiving and forwarding selection packet, maintaining applicant suspense files, calling and scheduling new hires for orientation and entering data in automated data processing systems and assisting applicants at the front counter. Processes the full range of personnel actions for craft and trade and pay band Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) employees involving a variety of occupations. NF-03 level responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting new employee orientation, providing general personnel information to customers such as retirement, hours of work, leave accrual, health and life insurance options, local facilities, standards of conduct, EEO, etc. Sets up and maintains databases, spreadsheets and centralized files. Follows up on automated controlled suspense and due dates. Gathers background information on issues, researches current policy as it relates to the issue and determines related trends that my impact the issue at hand. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • ? High school graduate with at least two years of experience in an office environment.
  • ? Higher level work requires work experience or higher level of education that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • ? Previous Non-Appropriated Fund experience is desirable.
  • ? General knowledge of automated data processing systems or knowledge of computer software such as word programs and excel.
  • ? Skill and ability to compile, gather, assemble, consolidate and comprehend personnel data. Ability to establish and maintain various types of records and reports requiring accuracy.
  • ? Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with others.
  • ? Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • ? Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • ? If selected at NF-02 level, upon successful completion of training and meeting qualification and performance requirements, incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to higher pay band.
